April 5, 2010 – Arvada, Colorado – Mark VII Equipment Inc., the US subsidiary of WashTec AG of Germany, the leading supplier of innovative solutions for the carwash business worldwide, announced today the formation of WashTec Australia Pty Ltd for direct sales and service of WashTec and Mark VII carwash systems in Australia.

“The economic downturn has affected the Australian market similarly to other markets and caused our non-exclusive distributor, CK Group Australia, to exit the car wash business in March,” said Thorsten Krüger, CEO of WashTec AG. “The Australian carwash market is attractive and well established, with an installed base of several hundred machines from both WashTec and our Mark VII subsidiary. The carwash business continues to be profitable for most operators and we are committed to supporting our existing customers with quality service and equipment.”
